With reference to Article 3 of our statute, members of the Cameroon Academy of Young
Scientists (CAYS) are selected from amongst young scientists under 45 years, working in
Cameroon and the diaspora (Associate members and Alumni). CAYS is made up of three
colleges:
₋ College of Biological Sciences;
₋ College of Social Sciences;
₋ College of Mathematical and Physical Sciences

Prospective candidates must have demonstrated exceptional scientific distinction and good
commitment to the promotion of science education, popularization and research in
Cameroon. In line with the above, the CAYS hereby invites prospective candidates to apply
for membership to the young academy. This call concerns all areas of Science including
Engineering, Medicine, Social Sciences and Humanity.

 

₋ Be not older than 45 years by the 31st of December 2020;
₋ Be a holder of a PhD;
₋ Have experience in the research management of research and innovation;
₋ Be motivated, available and willing to contribute significantly to CAYS activities.

Candidates for the different CAYS colleges may come from Cameroonian universities and
research institutes. Each active member of the CAYS will be elected for a term of three years
renewable once. This renewal shall take into consideration the continuous demonstration of
scientific excellence by the member.

– The applicants must fill an online application form and attach the required elements;
– Applicants are required to upload a detailed Curriculum Vitae with full contact
information of two influential scientists who can comment on the candidate’s scientific
activities- Recommendation letters from the two influential scientists

₋ Announcement of results: 20th November 2020

₋ Contact meeting of selected candidates with members of CAYS in preparation for
the induction ceremony: 20th November 2020 at 14h.
₋ Induction ceremony: 04th December, 2020 at 14h.30.
